(it is included on your Win 95 / Win 98 or Win NT CD-Rom).
To unzip the various files you can use the freely available Zip-it!:
If you want to obtain the new Helpfiles, you can download the english version

Here I wish to present a few tools and files for use with the dict server (http://www.dict.org).
- I converted a British-english phonetics wordlist htmladdnormallinkfoot [Dict UK phonetics] Dict UK phonetics http://www.fortunecity.de/wolkenkratzer/zins/368/uk_phon.tar.gz
. The ASCII list was edited by Roger Mitton, Department of Computer Science,
Birkbeck College, University of London and available freely for non comercial
usage. I do not have any further claims on the work. - However, I would appreciate
if you would send new entries / or corrections to my database.
Please beware, that your client has to be unicode aware. That is the client
has to support UTF-8 format.
- A very well organised version of a english/german dictionary can be found at
LEO (http://www.leo.org).
At the moment there is still work ongoing to build a correct (and free) database.
If you are native in one language, and know the other language well, you are
invited to go to the LEO project and help to edit the database. (I certainly
will thank you). There is also a preliminary version in dict format available:
http://www.wh9.tudresden.de/heinrich/dict/
. Here you will also find another UK->DE dictionary (ding). And various dictionaries
from the IDP (Internet Dictionary Project) however, to me the appear to be not
very well edited.
